Cadillac XLR
Anyone drive a Cadillac XLR-V? I really like the hardtop convertible idea, but it seems to me that GM sort of left it as a redheaded stepchild with that 4.4 L supercharged engine only making 443 HP. Does anyone have any opinions about this car? Is it worth going out and test driving a used one? They drop in price like crazy as soon as you buy a new one. I saw some used ones in the $40K range.
It would be a whole different vehicle if they just dropped that CTS-V engine in it wouldn't it!?

I briefly thought about getting one until I read about all the problems they have. I would say research first then make your decision.

The fact that it's on a Corvette chassis is cool. They'll be decent collectables one day. Might be better off to just go buy a Vette.

The ones I've driven were pretty sweet.
I worked on that car and the Corvette and am proud of both.

It's definitely a nice car. I drove a few of them when I was cross-shopping with my dad for his new car. Truthfully, I wasn't too impressed with the performance, but the car looks great, is fairly rare and the interior is quite comfortable. I think if you're going to spend that kind of money you might as well go with something more exotic or a better performer, but it's definitely worth a test drive.

I really like this car......but agree it needs the LSA for the price it commands.
