I'm not saying i should be ahead of people who ordered their cars already. I just don't see ordering a car (no matter how perfect it is) and then waiting that long. As much as I'd like a Camaro, I'm probably going to have to go with something else.

--for all the people who ordered their cars so long ago, why didn't you just go to a dealership and buy one off the lot? There are 3 SS's here that weren't ordered for anyone in particular and they're just sitting here...

-Thanks to all who didn't give attitude...I was just frustrated about the way the dealership was dealing with this. Also hard to believe that GM didn't make a single 2LT with a manual trans..?

...not "sitting on lot" yet, but dealers have told me they weren't ordered by anyone and will be up for sale as soon as they arrive (1st of May I think).

There are people who have been anticipating this car since August 28th, 2002 -- the day after the last Camaro rolled off the assembly line......so as you can imagine -- lots of people want this new Camaro.

The reason you see so many SS models is because they are "sold" orders --people who put their orders in as soon as they could..........

Chevy DOES want to sell V6s -- lots of 'em....but the initial order rate was around 80% SS --

Chevy IS building V6s - -each dealer in the country is getting one -- but you will not see invoicing for those cars until the first part of May.....and out of those cars, you should be able to find a Camaro close to what you're looking for.

GM WILL still be in business -- we're not going anywhere - (and I know that fact will upset a lot of journalists!)

Buying a car that's in high demand is always a 'hassle' as you refer to it........it is called "The Law of Supply and Demand"....

Want a REAL hassle?

Go attempt to buy a new Ferrari.

I don't care if you have millions of dollars falling out of your pockets.

One must buy a used one first --and then develop a relationship with the 'retailer' (....that's a fancy word for 'dealer'...) ..and THEN and ONLY THEN might you expect to eventually get a new Ferrari......


We ARE glad you feel strongly about the Camaro -- but as several people have said - there were over 15,000 pre-orders -- and orders keep rolling in -- and I suspect we'll get even more orders when people get behind the wheel for the first time...........

That last part is the truth. My dealer sold 4 Camaros the day they showed up for my daughter to get her ride. I am sure in about a month from today there will be probaly 25000 Camaro's ordered since the general public will see them on May 6th.

And I hope to have Stephanie and Tephers there for the launch day events. I told my dealer I would take the day off and give folks rides if they want.
