Then I put this opti coat on. Now say after 3-4 months there is some light swirling, can I just grab the flex and start polishing? Now what if in another 3-4 months I need to polish again?? I can I judge how much coating is still on the paint?

After polishing can I throw another coat on of this opti stuff??

Thanks for your time!!
Yes if you have some light polishing you can polish the coating just like you would the paint. Now remember that the surface (once fully cured) is going to to be harder than most paint systems so it may take a little more polishing to remove the swirl marks. The flip-side, of course, is that it is harder to swirl the finish.

If you need to polish the coating again in 3 to 4 months then I would suggest changing your wash technique! But, in the case of hypotheticals, yes you could polish it again. At some point you will begin to remove or thin the coating.

The biggest indicator that the coating has been removed is that the water will no longer bead in that area.

Yes, after polishing, you can apply more coating. In fact the only way to "layer" the coating is to polish it first. Polishing creates microscopic scratch marks in the paint (so fine that we could never see them by eye) that gives the new coat something to grab into. The coating is SO easy to apply (easier than most paint sealants).

You are very welcome.

I'm getting pretty excited about this stuff

Sounds like a great product for polished aluminum wheels to help keep brake dust from bonding to the wheels??

I'm going to have to get some and do some "testing" on my work truck and also try some on my wife's new car.

If using the Optimum 2 step polish liquids that come in the spray bottles, wich polish would you use for adding another coat of the Opti 2? More aggresive first polish or the 2nd polish?

Sorry for all the questions, just getting all my facts straight

No problem, the second (finer) polish.
