remote start problems

Has anyone had problems with there remote start after the battery went dead? I charged the battery full and car started up no problem but remote start still wouldn't work. I then went out and bought a battery tender and tried it again last night(2 weeks later)and remote start still doesn't work but the car fired right up no problem. The insurance is off the car till April so it won't be seeing the dealer anytime soon, just looking to see any suggestions.

Is the hood fully latched? Are there any DTCs at the moment? I believe that remote start doesn't work if certain codes are present.

I was bored so I searched the interwebs. I found some information on some other car forums where the same symptom was reported after replacing the car's battery (which is kind of similar to recharging a dead battery). It's possible that you may have to reprogram your key fob. Perhaps the following thread can help (though the procedure in the first post apparently doesn't work on the Camaro):

There is a procedure in the owner's manual as well.

There is a menu on the head unit where remote start can be turned on or off. After a battery replacement i think it may default to off. I went over a year without remote start, had several people try to fix it but no luck. In the end all i had to do was turn it back on in the menu on the head unit. Ooops.
