My old '07 Trailblazer 3SS would give that jeep SRT a run (stock for stock). Unbelievable how quick that thing would get up and go, it actually caught me off guard first time I stomped it (and I got out of a '01 Trans Am at the time)....

No disrespect to the Jeep and people who like them, but I just don't get it. Fine, this is what Chrysler has SRT for and all, but if I was looking for something performance-oriented with 400+hp I wouldn't even look at Jeep. Challenger/Camaro/Charger/Mustang etc., yes, but a Jeep?
Sure it's everyone's personal choice, but in this case all the contradictions make my head hurt. I realize that 98% of people with Jeeps and SUVs and all those other off-road-capable cars have never and will never go off road in them, but for $40k and 400hp why not get something that looks the part? Like I said, I don't get it. |

The large majority 4WD Jeep Grand Cherokee owners don't buy them to go "off roading" or "4 wheeling" but need them because they live in the snow country and don't want to deal with chain control or getting stuck, and most likely enjoy beating up on Mustang GT, Camaros SS, and other SRT's in 0-60 mph sprints should the opportunity present itself. The new 2012 is going to be getting the new 440whp 6.4L Hemi and 8 speed auto and should be the ultimate family car. It can do just about everything well, and has really low drag coefficient and is basically a Mercedes because of their merger with Daimler. Here's my CTS-V wagon vs SRT-8 thread where more C5 members prefeered the Jeep over the Caddy wagon Soccer dad WAR: CTS-V wagon vs Grand Cherokee SRT-8 |

I've beat 3 stockish Jeep Srt-8's. All racing from a dig. We were on a certion road in Toledo. We stopped and talked and he told me that I was the only vehicle that beat him that night. Awd is hard to beat on the street. Best advice I'd have when racing a Jeep Srt-8 is to not panic when someone/thing says go and he leaves you by about 2 car lengths off the line. Just run your race and you might catch him.

how much are you putting to the tire? It might be possible to hit 800hp with that centrifugal just like the JPC 5.0 that put down 802whp and runs 8's all on the stock engine. I sure you don't want to go that high but I think you can pick up a few more ponies and still keep it safe because its centrifugal.
