1997 Anniversary SS Z/28 LT4 $50,000

1997 LT4 SS Z28 Anniversary Grand Sport Edition 330 horsepower Corvette Engine, Only 106 built in which all of the production LT4 engines were completely disassembled, balanced, blueprinted and honed with stress plates. Areas of the engine that were checked and adjusted included, the deck, line bore, bearing clearances, head surfaces and a multi angle valve job.
SOLE OWNER CAR BOUGHT AND STORED WITH ONLY 60 ORIGINAL MILES
Has performance exhaust, a lightweight drive shaft, Bilstein sport suspension and a Torsen limited slip differential. Options for the LT4 SS were limited and consisted of a Level III Bilstein suspension package and BFGoodrich Comp T/A tires.

The LT4 Camaro was definitely built to function like the performance icon it has become. The engine comes with a 10.8:1 compression ratio and redlines at 6,300 rpm. Maximum horsepower is achieved at 5,800 rpm, and maximum torque is realized at 4,500 rpm. Fuel shutoff doesn't occur until 6,400 rpm. Nope, this isn't your typical fourth-generation Camaro. Chevrolet and SLP Engineering got it right when they conceived this tire-smoking, pavement-pounding Camaro SS.

Motor Trend tested the LT4 SS and came away with some impressive numbers. The car ran from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.9 seconds and sprinted the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds. These are the same numbers that the magazine came up with when testing the 1996 Corvette Grand Sport.

All LT4 SS Camaros were hardtops, and the only giveaway to what lurks under the hood is the 330-hp decal on the rear. All this horsepower is laid down by way of a Borg-Warner T56 6-speed manual to 17" x 9" Arctic White cast-aluminum wheels.

• Lightweight Composite Hood with Functional Forced Air Induction System
• High Flow Air Cleaner Filter
• Rear Deck Lid Spoiler
• White and Orange SS Exterior Badges
• Power Remote Hatch Release - Electric Twin Remote Mirrors - Leather Wrapped Steering
Wheel
• Driver's/Passenger's Reclining Seat
• Cassette Player/4-Speaker Sound System
• CD Player/8-Speaker Sound System (200 Watt Delco Audyssey)
• Arctic White Leather
• Arctic White w/ Hugger Orange Stripes

He is asking 60k,although it's really nice it seems a little over priced about 15k at least...
There a lot of them for sale, for as little of them as they made..there's one on lstech for 43k with 600 miles on it,and another one for 27k with 12k on it..
I wish him all the luck with the sale, I just do not see the value for the money, with everything that's on the market nowadays...even at 43k but I hope he gets it....

There is no doubt it a rare vehicle. Awesome engine too. I had it in my 96 Grand Sport Corvette. One thing I would suggest... if your going to ask 60k for a car... regardless how rare... clean it. The engine compartment looks as clean as my daily drive.

Nice car, I would love to have one to join my LT1 car, but that 60k is hard to swallow.

I'll trade you a 1 of 25 Navy Blue Metallic 2001 B4C cars?
It does have a few more miles on it though

A new ZL1 could be had for less. You'd have to be a die-hard collector to want that car at that price. And a new LS has almost as much HP.

Another bad bet by someone who THOUGHT these cars would be the shiznit 20 years later, but sadly, no.

Forget it, the 60K price tag is way too much for what little you get. And if it's been out in Arizona heat and apparently lots of dust for those 20 years...25K maybe...but 60K? Dreaming.

Very nice car , I have an 97 convertible Z28 30th anniversary also. My wife took me to see the same car two years ago that was for sale here in Canada . There are only 6 in Canada if I my memory serves me correctly. The one I looked at had low miles and was in excellent condition . We got the price to $18,500 , but what stopped me was I had no where to put it and did I really need two anniversary cars. Now I think that I should have bought it , mine goes up for sale in spring when it comes out of storage . GOOD LUCK with the sale

Amazing that just 17 years ago, the top dog only put out 330 hp. Today you get that base v6 model. Gotto love engineering!

ya... but the v6 Camaro wont come close to that thing in a race. I had the same motor in my grandsport in 1996. I ran a best of 12.94@109.7 and would consistantly run 13:20's non stop. That was 100% stock down to the tires and paper air filter.

A few similarities with these and the gen 5 Z relative to motor. I think they made around 100 SS and thirty Firehawks with LT4's. Leave the dust in the engine compartment!
