Good list. All 10 are very deserving of their spots on it.

The Fit, the Miata, and the GTI are all excellent cars. If it wasn't for all the hills I have to drive over I would have gotten a Fit as my daily driver. The Miata is a bit too feminine looking to me, but it drives great. The GTI is a great car, just overpriced, like most Volkswagens.

The fit is simply the best subcompact on the U.S. market. The engine is decently powerful for its displacement and the car's size. The controls are very simple and clear. The interior layout is brilliant, and you can fit so much more than you think you could in there. Fuel efficiency is pretty good. Pretty much everything you'd want in a subcompact is in the Fit. That is why it made the list.

Doesn't the Yaris fit that description? I've been in a Yaris, and those are pretty classy on the inside, even if they are very "cute" on the outside. I always thought the Fit looked crappy in comparison.

In every magazine and website I've read they generally think the Yaris is just ok, but nothing great, but they love the Fit.
