I told one of my best friends who happens to have a 05 Porsche Carrera, that I got a Camaro. This past weekend. He said I don't care what color you got, just don't tell you got a V6.
It was like he popped a big ballon in my stomach, because I did. |

They do sound very good. It's all in perspective, though. Maybe a V8 is in your future, maybe not, but definitely don't set aside your enjoyment of, or your enthusiasm, for the car you own right now. There will always be a bigger, faster, better sounding car somewhere.

Best sounding V8 to me.

Depends on the Porsche, of course, but some of their flat 6s are insane.

Oh I know, which is why you'd think a Porsche owner would be the last guy to poke fun at a 6 cylinder.

Eh 12 second car (or better) vs a 14 second car. I think he'd be OK to gloat lol
Honestly if these cars weren't so damn heavy I don't think anyone would knock the 6s (not that they should anyway but whatever). If the V6 ran mid 13.4-5 stock and the SS 12.3-4 you would hear people saying how the V6 is right on par with 4th gen LS1s with minimal mods. Instead we get threads like this and all show no go one lol

That sound is half or more of the reason I'd want one. Sure the power is a bonus, but if the sixer could sound the same I don't think I'd ever trade up lol.
Still thinking a lighter 6th gen, with a more powerful V6 seems like it could be a very fun package, and I could easily get into one (possibly with little to no money borrowed) but thinking about the sound of the V8 makes me think twice lol. (and again...the 440+ HP the LT1 will likely have doesn't hurt)
