Wow, that sucks. That's why I'm a big fan of under/uninsured motorist coverage. My wife got hit by a lady with no insurance a couple of years ago which destroyed our G8. Thankfully my wife is alive, but unfortunately it did cost us our deductible.

Small claims court is your friend. I've had very good luck in small claims court and recovered several thousand dollars from dumb-ass ignorant people.
EDIT: Almost forgot to mention, dash cam is also your friend. You need one...maybe two... |

In Texas, the uninsured/underinsured coverage carries a $250 deductible. You may want to check with your carrier or agent if you have one.

Small claims is always a challenge, but make sure you sue and get a judgement.
Off topic: last night after the Zac Brown Band at Fenway Park, an out of state car rear ended my friends car (minor). I don't remember much after the intermission point , but I remember his outburst when the girl said "I have The General for insurance". His words "ooohhh balls so you've got like shit coverage".

There is no deductible IF he has uninsured/under insured motorist coverage. If he doesn't, He just learned a hard lesson...

This is always why I have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. It costs me $2 per month. This $2 keeps me from having to pay my deductible. So extremely worth it. That being said, I never ever have my deductibles at $1000. That's really high. Ouch.
Sucks this has to even be an issue, though. Hopefully it gets fixed quickly and well.

Its amazing how people likes us have to spend more on our insurance policies.....to be sure we're covered if hit by an uninsured or underinsured motorist. That's how it works in Jersey anyway.... Ughhhhhh. Good luck getting it repaired. Hope everything works out for you.

Ouch poor camaro. The insurance company trap doors are ridiculous but a 1000 deductible is crap insurance no offense.
