In his defense if they were stereotyping, wouldnt bumble bee have a mullit?
If they were stereotyping wouldn't ratchet ask for proof of insurance before he fixed any robot and only to be seen on golf courses most the movie. If they were stereotyping wouldn't Optimus wear a sleveless flanel with a vented baseball cap.

I don't mind the robots, even though Mud Flap and Skids were annoying. The worst part about the first two movies was all the human characters, ESPECIALLY Shia LaBeouf.
