Option for mounting front Lic. Plate / Zero cost and 10min

In order to get my inspection sticker my dealer (who I work for) wanted the front plate mounted.

So I was going to get the retractable plate - though it seems it doesn't fit according to some other posts on this forum.

What you want to do is flip over the Lic. plate bracket provided (so "CAMARO" is upside down - and get 4 long tie-straps, rubber hose 3 inchs long (get clear hose is you can, I only had black fuel hose available at the time) make sure to split the hose top to bottom.)

1. First you need to make the mounting holes a little bigger (NOT the smaller lic. plate holes) so you can fit the head of the tie-strap through. (a rasp or a drill is needed just to take off a couple millimeters)

2. Feed the tie-straps around and through the egg crate lower grille, put the upside down plate bracket up against the car, hold with your knees and tighten the strps slightly - go from the left hole to the right and tighten tie-straps evenly.
Cut-off the excess ties - then take your rubber hose that has been split and put it on the bottom of the plate holder to protect your spoiler. (there is only a centimeter of plastic that rubs)

This will take about 10 minutes to do-if that long. Quick and cheap fix!

Thanks! I'm going to take this to my dealer. Whats worse though is that Nebraska changed their plates for next year and put on birds and flowers!!!!!!!!! I will not be forced to put birds and flowers on my new Camaro, I'm looking for a new state to live in.

Yeah who the hell even came up with that dumbass design?Don't they remember the last time we had "yellow" plates? Everyone hated them.....I can't believe we're going back to this stupid crap.....I'd rather just keep our current plates.

The stupid thing is the red/white/black one won the voting, but the people running the thing wanted this ugly-ass yellow one (and it's a pastel yellow too), so they claimed it was rigged by some other website and just invalidated the winning plate.

Sorry for the thread jack.....good idea for the plate mounting....

I bought a plate holder for my Vette from Topflight and they said that they expect to have one soon for the Camaro so I'll wait and see what they come up with. They did a great job on the one for the Vette!!
