Should I put Xpipes on my ZL1 instead of the factory Hpipe

Doing Headers and HF cats on my ZL1 today and i was wanting to get the consensus opinion of some of the experts on here whether or not i should change from H to X. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd first try what you have. Personally I like the sound of an H over an X. Or, even better, my favorite is a siamesed X which looks like )(.

I don't like the ones that actually look like an actual X. I would think that causes too much collisions of the pulses. If the pipes are siamesed, that would be better at scavenging without colliding. And the H, does a good job at balancing the sides.... but not so much at scavenging, so maybe a hair less top end. But really splitting hairs at maybe a slightly better top end power.

If you put on what you have, and it sounds great, rips hard.... I'd stop messing with it. If your going to replace the rest of the catback, go 3" with a )( siamesed crossover. Just my opinion.

I guess the right question to ask is should i switch out the exhaust to a Corsa, like it is being suggested to me, which would replace the factor hpipe system with a new one with an xpipe setup?

An x-pipe in the correct location scavanges better and usually produces more HP but that being said some people do like the sound of an X-pipe.

almost all headers sytems use X-pipes.

almost all companies these days use a siamesed X. bolra, corsa do.

manaflow is the one company I know that uses a conventional X and I for some reason just an not a manaflow fan all the way around. 409 pipe, sound, that X pipe.

Listen to the clips corsa is raspy sounding exhaust and if that is what you like go X. if you like a deaper sound don't do it. Borla with an X is deaper than Corsa with and H. Corsa with an X just screams. most people love it or hate it.

Leave the back end alone. There is nothing to be gained there. I think you will be very pleased with the sound just with headers and Hcats
