Belt Slip!!!

I have the stock maggie belt up front with a 3.4 pulley and I believe I have belt slip. On my two step I am seeing only 6-7psi and when i'm on it in third I'm only getting 2-3psi. On the 3.6 pulley I was seeing 8psi on the two step and 9psi midrange falling to 7psi by redline. So all in all what can I pull off without going to an 8 or 10rib setup? Larger Idler Pulley? Shorter Belt? What options do we have here?

Larger idler, stronger aftermarket tensioner (billet)

Tensioner is a big deal. Katech makes a pretty nice one, I know Jannetty has fabbed them for maggies too. Plus is that you can easily swap to 8 on the tensioner in the future

2-Steps and Supercharger Belts and Tensioners Don't Play Nice together, I have seen many a shredded Belts and broken Tensioners in my day.

If you have the right belt length and the Idler pulley in the Right Spot Belt slippage with a 3.4 should not be an Issue.

We have a Super HD Tensioner available that we are running on SuperchargedSS's Car, there are pics in the Thread.

Do Not go to a Mechanical Tensioner they don't work with Superchargers.

The belt is basically a rubber band and when you put it under strain it stretches, and you need a spring loaded tensioner to take up the additional length under power.

I used a gates green belt with the 3.4 and didn't have much slippage at all. It made over 10 psi. Ask Ted which belt. He should know.

With a 3.2 you will need more of a Tensioner like on Jamies Car.

Give me a call and I will set you up with one.

Ted.
