Highway Cruising RPM range?

All,

Have a 2012 2SSRS auto trans.... When cruising on the highway at 70-75, I feel like my RPM is kinda high, what does everyone else find that their RPM range to be when on the highway? What would be considered high?

At 70-75 on the interstates my Auto SS tach reads just about 2,000 rpm.

RPM is dependant on the drive gear you are in and the final gear ratio, in a l99 the rear end is 3.27. What do you feel is excessive?

What exactly in a tune will allow you to run a lower RPM at the same exact cruise speed as before?

I don't know. You'll have to ask Ted since I have a JRE tune.

Could be tire size change or reduction of torque converter slip.

"Could be tire size change or reduction of torque converter slip."

I experienced that when I changed torque converters. I chalked it up to torque converter slip in the old torque converter. In your case I don't know unless maybe the tuner added more line pressure?

Sorry, should've mentioned my cruising RPM range is in the 2400 2600 range.

Reference the drone mentioned, is that the "rattle like" sound that I hear coming from the exhaust?
