It's not speculation. It's been confirmed by numerous dealers.

I agree with you , but I think alot of people will get upset if it has more power than the SS. I for one do not mind that aspect at all. I dont think this car should be called anything other than Z28. I cant imagine having one and pulling up to a gas station and someone coming up to me and saying " man is that the new z28?" and I have to say " no man its the Horsepower edition" :(:(

Here are the confirmed details from the meeting:

I would definitely get it no matter what it was called... but saying it's a Z28 sounds nicer to me

It shouldn't be called Z/28. If it came with coilovers, a smaller high output engine and a lighter curb weight, then it could be called Z/28. The last time the Z was the top car in the lineup is when they were going after the Trans Am racing series. Very limited production, limited options.
Is the new platform going to lighten up the curb weight very much? I can't imagine that it is going to save enough weight to make up for the 100+ pounds of SC over the front tires and the extra weight of the MRS. So the new "HP Edition" should be over 4000 pounds. Not exactally what I would consider Z/28 worthy. The new SC powered beast needs a different moniker.

I think this poll is funny. Not really expecting a whole lot of anti-Z28 answers. I voted Z-28. Should post this poll on a Mustang or Challenger website. Not!

Z28 all the way. The z28 name is a camaro. That name Z28 screams muscle. I hope they don't make the mistake of calling it something else. That would be sad. I own a 94 Z28 and it's the best name ever for a muscle car.
