Dyno's
What is the differences between a dynojet , and a mustang dyno? The closest to me is a shop that uses a mustang dyno. Trying toget input.

The dynojet is a inertia style dyno while mustangs dyno's are load dynos. . .
Basically with an inertia dyno all you can do are WOT pulls, with the mustang dyno you can hold your engine in steady state conditions which is necessary for tuning. If you are going for a tune go to the mustang dyno, if you just want to see how much power your car makes either dyno will be fine.

Thats what i plan on doing (Tune), but can the mustang tell you how much HP you have like the dynojet.

Actually, certain Dynojets also have proportional braking system, a "load control" systems. Usually designated by a "LC" after the model number. (like "248LC" or "224LC". Depends on what the operator opted for when they bought the dyno.
Alot of them do not. Here in Hawaii there is only one 248LC, I bought it that way in 1997 because I expected to use it as a tuning tool instead of a manhood measuring tool. |
