Yes, You should be able to plug and play a crate LS7 engine into a Camaro with an LS3 from the factory.

How about the engine harness or computer?

What he's saying is, take it Katech, they will handle it for you.

bottom line is that i'm going to need a new engine.
not sure which route to go. perhaps stick to factory ls3 block, or switch to ls7 or perhaps a LSX crate engine. Or even the LT1 wet sump.

Well, it may bolt in, but it's certainly not plug-n-play. You're going to need to have someone with HP Tuners or EFI Live calibrate the ECM.

LSX454 would be what I'd spring for, but that's just me.

I misinterpreted the initial question. The engine will bolt in, and the harness should be the same. You will definitely need to tune the ECU to run the engine properly.

Well... I traded my 2015 L99 for a 2017 LT1 primarily to get that bullet. Plenty of power and torque without the additional weight of the LS7 or LSX. If you haven’t driven a gen 6, try it.

I've heard of a lot of issues with the LSX454. The LSX 427 is a much better engine.

Z28 comes with the LS7 but has all the stronger components to match. Food for thought.

Right on. I had a buddy that had one in Florida and used it primarily as a track car. He was a contractor and his Chevy dealer kept calling him trying to get rid of it. They were very pricey! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I cannot remember the specifics off the top of my head, but it was internal components of the engine itself. There's a thread here from a guy that went through 2 or 3 blocks on a LSX 454 right out of the box with trouble.
