On some of the interstate stretches right here in Dallas, you better get out of the way if you're doing under 85. I swear they actually look at me and laugh as they go by my bright red Vette or my bright blue Camaro, but I'd really rather not pay more insurance than I already do!!!!

I would love to see the speed limits go up, but I don't think it will happen on any highway around my Houston. The roads are too old and always under construction. They will never be "fit" for 85 mph posted limits. Doesn't mean I won't drive it though. Lol.

I love TX and have no intentions of ever leaving. I hate the heat and humidity, but it is what it is.

Which reminds me of a "funny" story.

A good friend of mine moved the Nebraska to work for the railroad. During training a month or so ago he was freezing in the snow(since the dumb @$$ didn't buy any real winter clothes). One of the other guys also in training, who is from Nebraska, was giving him a real hard time saying, "You're a wuss(subbed that word), you don't know what real cold is." Well finally my buddy had enough and said,"Well I may not know what cold is, buy you have no idea what heat really is. Come down to Houston and hang with me doing this same job in July/August". To which the guy responds, "Whatever, it isn't that hot down there, you just can't take it". Apparently their trainer had been listening in and piped in at this point. "Hey, he may not know cold, but you sure don't know heat boy. I spent a few months in Houston working during the summer. They can keep that mess.....It's HOT!" That shut that trainees mouth and my buddy hasn't heard squat from him since.

I thought Texas was hot until I went to Florida in July.
