That's the permanent solution? They're gonna leave us with a jenky fob with a huge gap in the side?

I hate crap like that. My Ex's mustang had one. It makes the key so long that it doesn't sit in your pocket very well.
The Camaro switchblade fob is already bulky and fat. No way I'm adding a key to it to have more crap in my pocket.
It really pisses me off that my friend's 3 year old $20,000 Hyundai has a push button yet my barely a year old $50,000 camaro doesn't.

Leave it to GM to make a really fun car that lacks any type of sophistication outside performance. What is a 40K car doing without a push start in 2014???

If it bothers you that much, fill that empty space with something like RTV black. Or epoxy (you might have to paint this).

Or do as somebody mentioned earlier - adapt something that could be used as a screwdriver or other small tool.

Now maybe that's just me, but I do not sign random documents. Bar any cash incentives , there is no way in hell I will sign any such thing.

Nor do I see anyway GM can force me to.

Can anyone that singed this waiver recollect what it stated or even better, post it on here?
If you don't sign they will keep sending you recall notices, it may eventually become phone calls too. It's no big deal, if you sign it, you are done.

Right. I paid 64 grand for my ZL1 and I am supposed to fill my key fob with glue when they gut it and leave it looking like it is broken? I dont think so. They can kiss my butt.

So you'd rather keep whining about GM's "solution" than do something about it yourself? Sorry if I don't quite grasp that mentality.

It's easier to cry and whine than to sign a piece of paper or make lemonade out of lemons.

I want what they will be equipping the new cars that leave the factory with in the wake of this recall fix. I doubt they'll ship out new ones with a gutted key fob. Whining has nothing to do with it.

I am sure they will come up with a new fob soon, I am just hoping that later they give everyone the option to go to the new design fob instead of keeping the old one.

Well I'm going to insist on an updated fob fix for mine instead of this quick fix. No drama or foot stomping emotions, just a rational insistence on getting what a brand new vehicle should be equipped with and not settling for sub standard remedy to this open recall. Whether GM intends on doing it across the spectrum of all units recalled is not my concern.

My dealer just called me and told me my zl1 will finally be ready in an hour. I am beyond excited! I'm about to join the club!
