My wallet will certainly be lighter! But that is the fun part...you get alot for your money! As for age and spouses... It is all good! The most important thing is taking care of each other and having fun...Frank you and Kim are going to have fun in style! We all are. I am totally looking forward to a road trip. It just started to rain here so I am glad I didn't get caught out in it. Outta here!

Showed off the car to the skeleton staff at work, then drove into town to try and get comfortable driving it in traffic. I've been driving my gf's Civic for over a year, so shifting is, as you might imagine, significantly different. She suggested we drive west out the 299, a road we'd never been on being recent transplants to this area, so we did. You can Google map it of you like..lots of "S" turns and near 180s through the mountains..very cool. We went about 120 miles round trip, mostly after dark...deer and traffic. Turned around just past Weaverville and came home. The gf complained a few times about how I should slow down, as I was throwing her into the middle of the car and against the door, but, overall, she seemed excited. On the way back, she was quieter than usual, so I finally asked her if she was OK. Her response "My palms are sweating!" I apologized for making her nervous, but I wanted to check my limitations as well as the car's. She replied "I'm not nervous, this is exhilarating! It's like a roller coaster. My car could never do this. I can't believe how exciting this is! What an awesome car! You scared me once or twice, but now it's just great!" I just laughed, and realized that I hadn't yet quit smiling since we first headed out of Redding. Every time I figured out something new on the radio, or the DIC, or any new feature, I just said "What a GREAT f***ing car!" Anyway, she's in the garage now, which I spent Friday cleaning out for her, and the gf is, surprisingly...more excited every time I open the garage door than I am. I'm 57, by the way, and she's 47..fun for an old guy. Anyway, that was my holiday...hope you all had a good day, too!
Great story, car looks beautiful

I lived in Humboldt for a while and the 299 is very dangerous. I can totally see why that road would be a blast in one of these Camaro's but those logging trucks come over center all the time and cliffs with no guard rails are everywhere. I drove it alot gold prospecting from the Trinity river to Weaverville and had to dodge logging trucks in my lane about every other time I drove it. I preferred to drive it at night because you can tell there is someone coming around the corner(providing they have headlights on). Seemed like every week there were terrible head-on crash on the news. I barley missed a rock slide once too, came down right as I passed. Sweet Camaro too I love the Red Jewel!

Dealer just told me my car will be delivered tomorrow. That makes it a week sitting 10 miles away due to the holidays. It suppose to rain all day tomorrow and get colder. I am going nuts. I think I am the oldest person in this group. I think I have aged a few years in the last two months.

I guess I will go and spend some more money on her today. Cyber Monday... What can I buy????

My dealer at first told me 11/23. Hope you get yours next week. What was your TPW?
I see you are from Acworth. Do you go to the FBody Gathering? It is just down the hwy. from you.

Hi BowlingSS

I think I have a few year's on you.
Just called my Insurance agent to get a price, he said that he's been looking at the Camaro also and I told him about C5 and that he should check it out before buying.
I still have not had an update on my car. The last one was 11/18.
Hope you have good weather to pick it up in.

Don
