TPM sensor location ?

I have searched everywhere. Where are the tire pressure monitor sensors located
Are they in the tire stem? Are they on the inner rim ??? Can you take them out of the rims and put them in another set ????
They seem very expensive

Not to switch topics here, but how do they connect to the computer of the car? I don't see how they actually give data to the car's computer.

Thanks

The sensors are wireless and are activated on the motion of the wheel. They are short range wireless that is similar to bluetooth. However they are not bluetooth. I just didn't know if these were of the lick and stick type similar to what is used in aerospace of which I am familiar.

If they are that's a good price! Most tire shops are around $50 each. I know it is roughly $200 and change if you order them with your tires/wheels on tirerack.

I actually emailed GMPartsdirect about that part. They gave me the real part number.

12768826 tire pressure indicator sensor

They are $34.47
I picked up a spare set of rims that I could put my summer tires on, but will need the tpms.

If one of those sensors is damaged or broken, will it knock out the whole sensor system for the car ? Mine has a problem, and I cannot see any of the tire pressures on my dash now. I Had a rivet in my back tire, got it plugged and I am wondering if after they plugged it, they damaged the sensor and now it is causing the chain reaction.....
