maggie pulleys/boost

I have been reading some of the post on pully sizes. then i looked at some of the links showing pulleys from 3.8 down to 2.8 in .20 increaments. what i cant find is how much does each step effect boost. 1 psi , more , less . still learnin what can you tell me

Here is everything you need to know.
PLEASE NOTE: If running Long-Tube Headers, you will loose 2 PSI of Boost and to gain that back, choose a pulley 2 sizes smaller!

- 3.60" pulley: expect 2.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 8.0 psi
- 3.40" pulley: expect 4.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 10.0 psi
- 3.20" pulley: expect 6.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 12.0 psi
- 3.10" pulley: expect 7.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 13.0 psi
- 3.00" pulley: expect 8.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 14.0 psi
- 2.90" pulley: expect 9.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 15.0 psi
- 2.80" pulley: expect 10.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 16.0 psi
- 2.70" pulley: expect 11.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 17.0 psi

WARNING: The only way to install the 2.70" Pulley is to have the Jackshaft Housing machined down for it to fit properly. Some Jackshaft Housing Castings are made differently in sizes and do vary, as to what the smallest pulley you can use without maching. The smallest size we recommend is 2.80", without any machining performed on the jackshaft housing casting area.

I have a 2.75 on mine and we were around 13.95 lbs of boost before adding ARH LTs.

really....almost 14 psi for 601....Shooters car made 589 rwhp with a mere 9 psi boost.....3.3" pulley! I'm really liking Livernois' results

Boost is always going to be relative to the efficiency of each particular combo.
Take into consideration your cams (Auto cars l99 and stick cars ls3). Each car is going to respond a lilttle different. Now throw in a proper exhaust and air intake and everything changes again.

We've got a car here right now on 13lbs of boost making 800rwhp.
A few months back we shipped out a GTO on 91octane with 11lbs making 770rwhp.

Its all about efficiency of the entire combo.

If anyone needs pulley suggestions, feel free to give us a call.

Thanks
Mike Haddad

We can compare times and Dynos on the same dyno if you like at C5 Fest. To many shops out there are mysteriously producing magical numbers on the dyno and unless two cars are run on the same dyno it is difficult and inaccurate to compare numbers. Plus 601 was only one of the runs we pick the one in the middle not the highest or the lowest. We then stay with a tune that will last! I'm really liking Lingenfelter.

Thats fine

My dyno was higher at your shop then his before I made changes...5 rwhp....I don't think its magic.

Is a 14 psi tune going to last better than a 9 psi tune? doesn't make much sense. I don't see the evidence to back up your claims.

..there is evidence on video for the 1/4 mi to support my claim that the dyno wasn't just magic

Where are you doing your new build? I still think we should try it once you get your 650 rwhp at one of the Local tracks just for the fun of it.

I really wasn't making this about builds....however, I believe my 1/4 will be on video in the next 3 wks.....or certainly the results shown one way or the other. I can let it speak for itself....good, bad, or ugly...whatever the result.

We can go sometime......thats cool by me....seriously...I feel bad the way I presented everything. I like all said companies involved in our discussion.

Hey...it would be a battle of monstrous proportions!

I edited my first post as that number was before ARH LT Headers with high flow cats.
