Exclamation PICS:1957 Chevy Bel Air for under $3000!!! Perfect Condition..somethings wrong

So I was contacted by a friend about someone who is selling this Bel Air. The car has 3500 miles on it after restoration. I saw it advertised for 2600 in one paper and 62000 in another. Anyways I emailed the person and he said the car is for sale for $3000. I replied back asking about the newspaper saying 62000 and he replied back with a picture of the most recent edition of the paper...he changed the second posting to 3000 as well. Something just doesnt seem right. A perfect Bel Air thats runs great for that much?! I mean those cars sell for 60-80 grand, some even more! What do you guys think? Im thinking its stolen or something. He says he has the papers, it has a clean title and has all the work history on it. Im going to check it out, get the vin etc....If everything checks out Im going to jump on it! Here are pics he sent me
HE also stated he would want all transactions to go through the dealership he is affiliated with. Makes me feel safer.. He was very professional in the email, saying thank you for your interest and telling me about the car etc.

I was thinking it was a misprint too. But when he shows me the new add and tells me what he wants for it...just makes me wonder. He also said that he would want all transactions to go through the dealership he is affiliated with.

What do you think about him saying for all transactions to be made through a chevy dealer?

I'd personally go for it if he's doing this through a dealer. BTW, I'd be willing to bet that this is one of those angry ex-wife situations.

I'd check it out.

I lost the chance to have a 70 Chevelle SS in near mint condition years ago that was for sale for $350.00

I saw it in a newspaper add and showed my dad. he told me to forget it as it was probably just a shell sitting in a field somewhere. so I called a friend and told him to check it out....

turns out, the guy that was selling it had a son that ran up his phone bill for around $350 and then left town (and left his car as well). the guy just wanted his money back for the phone bill.

damn thing was near mint condition and my buddy picked it up and drove it to my house that evening.

Not a chance you cant buy the chrome for this car for 3k. Be really careful. I would get the VIN # take it to the police department and have them run a check on it to see if it is stolen.

When it seem to good to be true it usually is.
