Hey Turab,

Where did you get these numbers? They seem wayyyy to high, and way too disproportionate from the American numbers. Maybe 31mpg highway, but not 41...

Although, I wouldn't complain

You should get way better mileage on the highway with manual trans if you don't drive with a lead foot.

I don't know about "much better". 31mpg would be pretty good for a 304Hp V6 to start with. But 41mpg? That's getting close to a Prius!!!

I am a slaesperson at cmp autos in calgary. numbers are straight off a sticker... auto trans is better than human response and hence better gas mileage

So then they are exaggerated then. No one gets the mileage Transport Canada comes up with.

The manual trans runs 175rpm higher at 70mph. The manual could be able to get better city mileage, but the auto will do a little better on the highway.

V6 manual at 70mph: 2025rpm
V6 auto at 70mph: 1800rpm

I don't think either will get 41mpg anywhere...

That Cobalt is 36 mpg highway in the U.S. Here in Canada, the Cobalt XFE gets 52 MPG highway as a comparison. Toyota Corolla, only 50 MPG.
