From what I'm hearing, they really are trying to make the transition as seamless as is humanly possible for this type of change......

Hope you'll still race the series this year...you were getting pretty darn good!!! IHRA is typically what these "smaller" tracks are. NHRA sanctioning is VERY expensive, and you will rarely see any track outside of the ones the big boys race at that are NHRA tracks. A few still exist, but they are rare....you should be able to use your number....they will typically honor it when you register with them.
Thanks for that Regina. I certainly don't expect the new owners to fork over trophies or cash for last year's racers but some statement about things would have been nice. Transparency on what happened and what is happening has been lacking on both parties from what I've seen.

I may yet race in the series this year, haven't decided for sure. Really depends on how they intend to run it and information is scarce. Schedule says 3/21 is the first IHRA Summit event with "more info coming soon". I don't even see a section posting rules or format. I certainly have no need for an IHRA number until the end of the year anyway so I don't have to worry about that yet.

As it stands now, my NHRA membership and competition numbers are expired and I have no intention of renewing them.

I don't know about this month but Pony Wars is next month, April 18th. If I race at all this year it will definitely be then.

Guess I'm a little post-happy today. Get it while the gettin's good I guess.

Anyway, I've been looking into the possibility of maybe getting a Waverunner. I've always dreamed of having one and it looks like I can actually afford it now.

Question is, how many of you would disown me if I wanted to pull it around with the Camaro?

Not me!! I am still trying to figure out how I am going to carry an extra set of tires and parts to Bowling Green this year without a small trailer. I have signed up for the all day road course at NCM on Thursday prior to CamaroFest. Let me know how it pulls LOL !!

My dad pulls a small trailer with his '12 LT vert with no issues. I want to do the same to carry tires and tools.

That's 1 vote. Lol. It'll be tough cramming tires in the car without a trailer, let alone tools and such.

The hitch and wiring shouldn't be a problem, if you (or I) want to go that route:

http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitc...eid=2012301961

http://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-V...id=20121170624

Total weight for my application should be under 1000lbs, which is the rating I've seen listed for the Camaro. Ski weighs in at 730lbs dry. I'm not sure how much the trailer would weigh but I would hope less than 270lbs. I know it isn't good for the car but as long as it won't kill it on short trips, I think it's something I might be inclined to go for.

I'm still in research mode now but the trigger could be pulled at any moment. I'm familiar with the process of buying a car but not a boat. PWCtrader.com shows new listings over $1000 below MSRP but that's in Mobile and Atlanta. Tallahassee doesn't have anything in stock now but Panama Cycles in Panama City seems to be ready. Only problem with them is their listings are at MSRP so I'd have to haggle and I hate that part. That and I don't know how much a trailer costs other than a rough guess of between $500 and $750. I haven't made any calls yet. Just pushing it around the noggin for now.

Decisions, decisions...

Update, 2 positive votes it looks like. Didn't see Danvillekidd's post as I was writing mine. I'm thinking as long as I don't overdo it and go to places with proper ramps, getting it in and out of the water shouldn't be an issue. Obviously don't want to dunk the car in the water launching the thing.

Question is not whether we will disown you for pulling it with the Camaro.....of course not. But we WILL disown you if you waterlog your Camaro during the back - in!!!!

Which would be a justified reaction, of course.

I did find a video of a Camaro that got stuck trying to load one on the beach. Not 'near' but literally 'on' the beach. Zero entry in sand with water = bad time. I may be dumb to try this at all but not that dumb.
