i've seen some crappy plasti-dipped rims that did not do justice for the 2010. Guess depends if it's done right...

Then don't do it, or look at threads about it. Problem solved.

I saw plastidipped wheels on a G8 the other day, they look great and help keep the wheels looking new underneath. Must he done right just like anything else.

That's the key right there. I've seen some awful plastidipped stuff but if applied right, it looks awesome. Many people shoot it too close which causes it to bubble. If sprayed 8-10 inches away and not too too heavy, it'll give a very smooth finish. Best part is if you change your mind, just rip it off. Best material ever

Plastidip started out (at least 40 years ago) as being a liquid in a can that you could dip your tool handles into like a pair of pliers to apply a vinyl/rubber-like coating.
It fact you can still buy the same thing in a can. It has just evolved into a spray-on coating you can apply to almont anything including an entire car. |

At first I didn't like it. But you can put a gloss over it and make it look good and shiny. Theoretically. I just plasti-dipped my wheels and I don't do I did a good job. I sprayed pretty close (read the directions wrong). And put on 5 coats plus a gloss. I may tear it off and re-do it. I got enough cans and time. |
