Some responses in this thread have been over the top, sure. But there was already a thread dedicated to this work. It was called, "I want a new radio" and it was a perfectly fine thread to discusss this work that Ofer was embarking on, without setting any expectations.

However, another, new, separate thread (this one) was then created that reserved space, which set an expectation that something would be done over 30 days or so. It's natural for frustration to set in when this kind of expectation has been set. Fair or not, I can understand why this thread set an expectation.

My 2013 ZL1 has MyLink w/ nav, but I hardly ever use those features. I kinda miss the old style radio that was in my 2010 SS which could play CDs.

Yes, I know CDs may be old school, but people still use them. This of course is not an option with MyLink.

Can everyone just shut it and await an update? Your complaining does not rush the process, nor is it justified.

Just wait patiently...like the rest of us.

As you know i am slammed all the time with orders thank you for that C5 members your the best, new guy is hard at work on all kinds of things.

But remember in the OP i said not to try this at home..............................will some one did, and its not working for him, as a matter of fact he went and add a new dash harness in the car.

Now we are working with him to to try and help get his car running, we think its the BCM, but it can be the wires he replaced, see there are more wires in the new harness for the 2013, i think he fried the BCM but it may be the wires are not letting the BCM tell the ECM to start the car.

So dont try this at home if you dont want to toast your car.

We need to give Ofer the time to focus on doing right for all of us, whatever time amount that might be. He has done wonders for the community on many other conversions and mods. As you can see by the results of the above post, haste makes waste, and Ofer's trying to help the guy out, possibly taking away from the time he could be spending on our solution (and also maybe learning a thing or two NOT to do moving forward). If you can't wait, pursue your own options and take your own risks, and live with the results, whatever THAT might be (fried BCM's, etc.). If you can beat Ofer to the punch with a solution, that would be great and we hope you will share it with all of us. If not, remember, good things come to those that wait.

And those that can't wait...quit your bitchin'

before Ofer started this project I had looked into it myself..
I spent no less than 12 years as a GM Mechanic and have since then been
doing many levels of custom work on all sorts of vehicals.. needless to say I qualify as a professional..
And I will say that this one is best left to the pro's..

Thank you for taking your time Ofer.. and I am sure the impatient ones will try to DIY so then when they cry that they need help.. you may at least make back some of your "Research" time and money...

Got the word from the member, you cant change out the dash harness there not wired the same, there was no way to talk to the BCM or the ECM with the new dash harness, On a side note thanks to camaro2lt i will try and add a 4 pack gauges to a 2013 1LS this weekend if the member comes down,if i get that working it will get me closer to this DIY.

It sounds to me like finding the GM data cable in newer models to make the 4 pack gauges work is a hold up on this.

I will be changing the 4 pack gauges in the 2SS to the ZL1 gauge pack to get the one with the boost gauge in it.. so I will be taking a close look at the wiring for the gauges.. will post pics if anyone wants them.
