Can anyone tell me what type/size of screws are needed for the door inserts or where I can get hold of some carbon flash metallic paint?

my paint came from automotivetouchup.com, they have all the factory colors listed and if not then just give them your paint code and they'll make it happen. one thing I did notice after reinstalling is I should've tape a bit more off for the ABL lighting, then I would've had a fatter light in the doors. might redo it but for now it still looks good

I put my write-up inside my build journal. I'm tackling the rest of it this weekend...but if someone could be so kind as to tell what screws and how many I'll need for the door panels, I'd really appreciate it!

Not sure if this has been done yet, but instead of paint, I put carbon fiber on the inside of the trim piece.

I originally intended to overlay the outside, but I have been having difficulty finishing the pieces either via polish or clearcoat. I had seen this thread and followed the instructions on removing the paint from the backside and figured maybe I could do carbon fiber on the inside and not have to worry about finishing.

Well, here are the results! It's hard to tell from the pictures, don't mind the fingerprints, but the depth is still there.

I'm glad to see so many people are having good success with my DIY! Didn't think it would catch on this well.

I really do applaud your efforts, guys. Some of these unique ideas you all have are so cool.

I don't have the Hugger Orange trim panels anymore, I saved up for the GM IOM ones. Not the GM accessories kit either. I got the actual replacement parts for a car with the IOM trim package, meaning I got the ENTIRE door panels - the IOM inserts, IOM-stiched armrests, the ABL wiring, and everything in between, along with the two dash pieces. I even got the ABL to work! I love them since in most lights, it looks like Hugger Orange anyway.

Amazing work, keep it up! The carbon fiber one is real awesome.

Can anybody tell me what they did sanding wise? Like what type of sandpaper and what did you do after sanding? Or does it need anything more?

I want to do this but in SGM but I've got to search for the parts first since mine are currently cloth. I don't think I can get the depth with stripping the cloth ones.

Just steel wool #0000. A little work on your end to get the paint off but it clears up once you polish it. It's not a two minute process, so give yourself plenty of time to get it right. I have what I did in my build journal on the last page. But definitely go for it!
