I personaly would like to see a leather delete on a 2SS. Give me am 800 or 1000 discount. I don't care for leather at all. Otherwise if the 4 pack gauges were an option I would go that way. I would probaly get the colored panels from parts even without the ABL just for looks.
For me the C&C isn't that important. I will only be driving on nice summer days. My 2 other Camaros were driven less than 1000 miles last year. My 08 Cobalt SS has steering wheel controls but it is so foreign to me that I always use the radio buttons. You don't have that much control with these controls anyway. Volume and mute yes but you have to change chanels by going up one preset at a time. And XM is even harder to find what you want.

I am planning on the 4-pack gauge being available at the dealer and installing myself; therefore I am going with the 1SS and saving a few grand.

I think it is very silly GM is not offering C&C on the 1SS. It gives me one less thing to tempt me if I get one. It will be 1SS but haven't decided on the auto or manual and RS package or polished wheels...

that's because the RS package is an exterior appearance package. the only differences between the 1SS & 2SS are interior options.

The "seat trim" is throwing me. Its makes it sound like it has extra leather.

All I want it leather and nothing more. 3000.00 for leather is hard to swallow...
the 1SS is the bottom line V8. the 2SS is the top model V8.
the LS is the bottom line V6. the 1LT is a step up, and the 2LT is the top model V6.

basically the only interior option differences between the 2LT & 2SS are the SS emblems

the 2LT/2SS models get leather. the LS/1LT/1SS models get cloth.
the extra $3000 is for all the options listed in many posts above.

sounds like the leather delete you want is called the 1SS, seeing as how you don't really care one way or the other if you have all the fancy doo-dads. the aux gauges will be available as a dealer-install part, so you're set

This seems like it would take care of about 90% of the ordering concerns with the SS;

1. Make C & C optional on the 1SS like the 1LT

2. Make leather seats optional on 1SS and 2SS

I ordered a 2SS - RS as I wanted everything in the 2SS package except leather seats. It just made my decision harder to have to spend around $1000 for something I really didn't want.

Thumbs down

None of the above. The best the past were the cars with only the HP parts on them. I am ordering mine 1SS in White/Black with Hurst short throw shifter, Catback Exhaust, Preformance Air Intake and Shorty Headers. Ordered as LPO they will be on all paperwork and window sticker for future $$
Not to forget the added HP!

I haven't read through the whole thread, so forgive me if this is a repost.

Anyone else wish you could downscale the 2SS a bit? Living in a warm climate, I'd love to not burn myself on leather seats everytime I get in my car, but at the same time I don't want to give up ABL, C&C, etc.

Besides, I like the extra friction you get with cloth; it comes in handy in the bendies.

It seems like my only option is to burn myself or give up those features...or swap out seats with someone with a 1SS who wants leather, which could be a big hassle.

Same here, aftermarket may come out with some better options for the 4-pack gauges though!

With all due respect: first thing that popped into my head into my head when i saw this thread was 'wow... some of the members are going stir crazy"

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Definetly C&C thats why im struggling with this now... Aftermarket is too many pieces from this vendor and that vendor to make up for one clean display. with all that included you dont have to go aftermarket.
