Terminator FG Hood - Shocks/Latch?

Anyone with a fiberglass aftermarket hood (preferably the Terminator hood), did you re-use the stock shocks? Did you re-use the hood latch or get hood pins? VIS is recommending hood pins and saying to ditch the shocks because they'll warp the hood, and to use a hood prop instead. I have a 2010 SS with the flat hood. It feels like fiberglass but could be metal, idk. I can't find an answer to what its made out of.

Also going to ask the bod shop what they recommend, but wanted to see if anyone had experience.

I have the terminator hood and didn’t change anything. Just a simple swap and the only thing i did was adjust the bumps where the hood sits so that the hood could sit flush. Had it for a couple of months with no problem

Hey there

Hey guys . Am in a similar situation. I ordered the terminator GT hood in FIBERGLASS from VIS. Will be receiving it in a few days . I spoke to a representative at VIS and he said something similar saying "don't use the hood prop that's stock .it will warp the hood and might cause it to break. Over time .!! He said get a replacement hood prop from like Auto zone or something . Also said FITMENT of the hood is pretty much like OEM . Shouldn't need any mods and it can be used without the hood pins unless you plan on doing high speeds. Anyone have any issues with the fitment of the hood which is what I'm more concerned about. Did it require any mods to get it to fit.

Thinking about getting T-hood myself. Please update with your results and what you did to make it fit. Thanks

It's going to the body shop, I'll ask them what they do and can post pics but I'm not installing it myself. I'm going to get aerocatch hood pins just to be safe.

Sending the fiberglass hood back . Re ordered the carbon fiber . Lots of issues with fitment . From what I heard and I have yet to experience this for myself the carbon fiber is supposed to fit much better . I wasn't particularly thrilled with the fit of the fiber glass. Will see how the carbon fiber fits .

Not sure if this helps, but I reused the stock shock with my Carbon Creations hood, but I'm looking into hood pins. The aerocatchs are hard to place because of the curve of the hood, only seen one other Camaro with them successfully installed.

I'll ask the body shop what they recommend for pins then and see what they say.
