You got cammed (est +35hp); I didn't figure I'd need that route just yet (likely our difference). You can see my boost taper off as I run up the RPMs on the unloaded dyno. The tuner figures a loss of 35-40rwhp there. I'd like to run on a loaded dyno for snitz and giggles.

Doesn't seem to be a lot of Whipple installs on this thread.....any particular reason for that?

I have had mine on for 3 years and 60K no problems what so ever.. if the temp is 70 degrees and below its awesome... when the temps get high outside (texas heat) and after the car has been driven for 20 minutes.. it doesn't even feel like its installed. But Im sure thats with any brand of blower. The programer that came with it is good for you to drive around for a bit but a better tune will pick up 70 hp on a cold day.

I dynoed 501 in 67 degrees was told that if I did any mods like headers or cold box I need bigger injectors and a ZL1 pump or boosta pump.

I'm going to do the cam thing now probably the GT9 lingenfelter.. with that injectors, and fuel upgrade will be needed and headers.

I will probably go to the E85 conversion so when it gets hot I dont lose power like now from all the retard and timing.

I really want to find a stealth cam with normal idle.. I had a LT4 camaro with blower Cam, lingenfelter heads, 385 motor, FLp headers, borla, and vortec supercharger.. the rough idle and loud exhaust got on my nerves after a while.. but it sure was fun beating up on the stangs.

I know this is and old post. But why does your HP drop off at 5600? You would have to shift around 5200 to stay in the power.

I can't explain why other than that's the way turbos blow. Each FI has it own delivery method - compare a roots supercharger, centri then turbo. I can tell you I have no problem with power up to redline. The power actually carries high-end better than a roots, IMO, as I pull hard past a comparable roots running down the track (top end). I don't have to shift early.

There are a number of reasons this could be happening....

Cam profile, If the cam is designed to make power lower in the rpm range you can make more power up to that point, and a little bit beyond but a profile is a driving force...

Turbo size... Smaller turbo's will hit really hard. The trade off is they run out of steam earlier.... You can only force so much air through a given body size...

Kit design... I know AGP has that wired... as do one or two of so of the other companies in my opinion...

And the big wall I ran into.... intake manifold... Mine ran out of steam at 7,200 rpm regardless of anything else.... it actually started falling off at 6,200 or so... We are building a short runner huge plenum intake for my new motor... The runners will be short enough that when the plenum is open, you'll be able to see the intake valve....

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Quite the motor Robert.... I've been wanting 7200 psi out of my blower, guess I need a turbo LOL. Maybe RPM?
