Very true.... I am sure it's going to be a bargain compared to other models with those kind of times!

I have a new ring tone!! Man that one video was awesome. Can't wait for these to hit the tracks. As far as all the punks with their BS in the other thread I have had enough... "All the well I won't be trading my car for a..." :banghead:

Why can't owners be happy that Camaros now come in mild, hot, spicy, and now slap ya mama!

Well, as one of the "punks" you reference, I will respond. I was considering trading in my ZL1 for the Z/28. I have decided that 3.8 seconds is not worth A/C, stereo, and 100+ hp. Simple.

I also said it is a great time to be a Camaro fan and I was very proud of Team Camaro. This is a forum right? Where opinion are welcome, if not agreed with?

I love the concept of the Z/28. I am not a every weekend track guy so the modest track gains over the ZL1 are not for ME. I am sure there are others who spend a lot of time at the track that see the 3.8 seconds and think that could be the difference in winning and losing. For them, I expect them to be first in line and I would be too if I was in the same position.

In conclusion, being disappointed or expecting a better number does not make us anti-Z/28. It just expresses our expectations which may have been off base but for a "no compromise" track car...I would think it would have outpaced the ZL1 by more. That's all.

So you were not going to buy a TRACK SPECIFIC Z/28 anyway? If I understand correctly... or is there a point (track time) where you say AC and price be damned.

No offense but it sounds like a lot of that v6 v8 BS that we hear so much of.

The Z/28 although always being compared to the zl1 is not even built for the same purpose.

I have a 1LE equipped SS and when they first hit the streets there started to be... what I can only describe as infighting with the zl1 owners. Thankfully it was pretty much squashed quickly.

I'd love to have a Camaro in every flavor... but I have to dance with who brought me.

Enjoy your Z... my comments were not directed at any one person and if I offend I apologize.

I'm not sure about the "winning and losing" part, since I believe the Z/28 may not meet certain track sanctions. So maybe you mean track day type runs. In any event, the Camaro is truly "dialed in" with only 3.8 seconds gap between the two top tier Camaros' that small gap can be explained by tire size, air temps on the day run, etc... It sure looks like heat soak wasn't a major deficiency on the ZL1 run. Similarities in time indicate small differences that could be leveled out with simple tweaks... but I think the team has delivered top tier performance with your choice of N/A or Supercharged. Pick em.

At 120 mph 4 seconds equals how many car lengths?

Aaron Link usually does the driving at the ring so I do believe it was him.

I do find it odd there has not been a official press release...... In the original article they claimed GM told them of the ring time... Why would GM do that and not have a press release?

So, how fast was the ZL1 IN 55 degree weather with rain for 100 seconds??

You don't honestly think this was their best time.

Do you?

Nice teaser for when the boys go back, imo.

I think the compounding issue is the ongoing guess/expectation on price. We've discussed a well North of $60,000 Z/28. I think that high number helped set high expectations.

If this were a $49,900 car you would be hearing less disappointment I think.

It is a great number but I don't think GM would post a non optimal time due to track conditions. This could simply be a run on a leaked video.
