Lightning McQueen True (Dry) Carbon Fiber Build (TheKid13)

Carbon Fiber Prototype Parts Have Arrived! Fenders Bottom Of Page 1. Hood Page 2! Carbon Fiber Parts! For Sale! Dry Carbon Fiber Parts For The Price Of Flimsy Wet Carbon Fiber! 100% Carbon Fiber! NHTSA Approved For Street Use Not Just Off Road! No Hydodipping Here! Follow For More Details

So I’ve finally decided to start my journal, a little late some might say since I’m half way done. My original plan was never to get this deep into cars, just buy and drive them. But somewhere along the line I got hooked and even changed my profession to better suit my new growing hobby.

Every night I go to sleep under a blanket of red white and blue. When I go to sleep I look up at the stars... All 50 of them. A quick look around my room revels my way of life. God first, country, state, and cars!

Late winter of 2012 I was out shopping for a new permanent car. Up to this point I had been leasing along with my family. My first cars where Nissan Altimas (2), a Ford Explorer, and the nicest car I had leased, a VW CC. I did not know what I wanted, but I did know that it had to be better than previous as far as power, interior, value, and appearance. Here are my choices in descending order… Challenger, Jeep, Camaro, Taurus, Edge, Fiat, Mustang. I reviewed them and test drove them all. Each with its pro’s and cons. All it really came down to was the finance and options. I wanted a base car, no nav, no cameras, no seat warmers or ass scratchers… I mean vibrating seats. Some dealers (No specifics) wanted to charge me double what my credit tier qualified me for. Ended up with the Camaro last minute. They called me and told me they just got one in, color, option, everything I wanted. Victory Red RS Package. Happiest day of my life so far…

Then on my way to work a shredded big rig tire comes flying at me. I had one car next to me and I could not see if the other lane was open. So I slammed on the brakes. It made contact with the bottom of the bumper and dislodged it and the air deflector. I just started my new job and didn't have time to do a full inspection so I left it overnight at towing company garage. They were nice enough to send me photo updates.

Early next morning I go survey the damage. Turns out it was drivable and all I had to do was snap and bolt everything back together. With the help of the employees I dressed it back up and drove it home slowly. Then surveyed the damage, took pictures, called an adjuster. $1575 for repair. Then proceeded to wash it and buff out what I could. Came out great!

Right before the accident I started buying little nick knacks to spice up the car. Such as reverse light bezels from drake, eagle eye black tail light bezels, and ambient foot well lighting and red license plate lights from phastek. I also had v6 badges on the fenders to replace camaro badges. Til someone stole them ($5 worth cheap plastic) and damaged my fenders in the process ($500 worth).
