Door panel insert question

this is in the DIY area but i think there might be more traffic here. Anyone know if these will accept the factory door panel lighting? http://www.classicindustries.com/sho.../dash-inserts/

On sale to Sunday so if they do I'll snatch them up. Unless someone has a source to them cheaper. I'll be painting them myself so color doesn't matter.

yup, spindy. Anyone know of other options?!?!

Called them already. They didn't know either. When i told them it was a factory option they assumed it was a safety feature and would be there! I had to explain what it was but clearly they have no idea.

My understanding is that all the door panels themselves are the same. The only difference being if the actual tube and lighting is there. I think all the panel have the clips to hold the LED tube.

RPI has them for about $439 before any coupons. I'm considering the carbon fiber door and dash inserts. The $439 price is for door inserts and the dash, it's less for just the doors inserts.

Thanks, good to know. That other place has 25% until Sunday so that's $420. Wish I knew the parts numbers so I could look at GM parts.

Just looked at the RPI but it specifically says for non ABL cars (no lighting in the doors). Mine has the lighting. The major questions is, do all the panels have the brackets for the lighting if I have the lighting tubes and lighting already?

Call them and tell them to take a picture of the back and send it to you.
But if you are going to paint them yourself a different color from the 4 types shown. I would try to find a cheaper route.
are you painting from the back side?
RPI has the ones for ABL but they paint the front IIRC and the line for the ABL looks like junk. At least it does in their website pics.

They say they are GM inserts, so I would try to buy unpainted ones from them and strip the paint off the back and paint it with your color of choice.
Or do a vinyl wrap in the color of choice and save alot of cash.

GM Part #s can be found on the flyer in this thread. very top of the flyer in post 4

But i'm not sure if they sell them anymore

here is a wrap on my car.

And its a new film that allows the ABL to still shine through. It actually lights up a little more of the panel too.

I wrapped my door panels/dash trim with red carbon fiber vinyl. IMO it looked fantastic, but once the DFW heat came along a few months ago, it all started to bubble up. It got so bad I ended up removing it.

Your panels look great! Did you use an adhesive of any kind to help adhere? I would like to try this mod again, but I need something to keep it from bubbling up again. It easily gets 150+ degrees inside cars here in the middle of summer.

It gets pretty hot here too. I just brought it to a vinyl graphics wrap place here in Charlotte. Its been on since april
They printed it and installed it, no adhesive other than what came on the wrap.
Chris at Vengeance graphix did the design

To answer your question the GM accessory kits do accept the factory ABL set up just with the non Silver kits it may alter the lighting color a little.
