Honestly I would say probably not unless you have another vehicle to drive. The all seasons can get you through 2-3 inches if you really watch your speed. The weather guys are calling for a worse winter than last year in Chicago.

dumb question; this doesn't mean I can put 19" tires on my OEM 20" wheels does it:

Choose current vehicle tire size(s).
If buying only tires, be sure to select the diameter of the wheel currently installed on the vehicle.

Minus Wheel Diameter: 19"
(Smaller wheel diameter than O.E.) Explain 19" Recommended:235/55-19

No, you must put 20 inch tires on 20 inch wheels.

Zogster is correct. If you want to use 19 inch tires you would need 19 inch wheels. We do have a nice 19 inch wheel tire combo that will fit your SS. Please feel let me know if you have other questions.

Just placed my order and referenced Rudy and Camaro5.

Having them shipped to Pep Boys near me and will call tomorrow to schedule install. Thanks for the help earlier, I will post an update and pics after the install.

Went with Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow and am actually anxious to try them out in the snow after everything I've read good about them here!

For an SS check our website. Enter you car and click on winter. Take a look at our 19 inch preffered package for the SS. This will get you rockin through the snow.

I have a 2011 LS w/ the standard 18" steel wheels. I believe the rears are still a little wider than the fronts which has prevented me from doing a true tire rotation. If I bought the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow 245/55R18 tires, would I be able to get away with using them on all the wheels or will I need to run spacers on the rear to make up for the difference in size? Or does the LS not even have different sizes and Im just confused. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Do 17' tires per from better than larger tires/ wheels?
With it already snowing in NY I really want to find a cheap pair of the steelies that comes the ls and then I'll get pirellis snow and ice hopefully.

Ordered the tires on Tuesday night, had them delivered to Pep Boys (closest recommended installer to me) and they arrived Thursday morning. That was faster than I expected. Went into Pep Boys on Saturday with a 9:30 appointment only to mount and balance the new tires and didn't leave until almost 3 hours later. They were to keep the summer tires (guy at the desk even wrote it in large letters on the work order) and then they tossed them and had to go retrieve them. Overall I don't expect much from Pep Boys but come on.

Of course we get the first snow of the year while I am waiting, so what better chance to try out my new tires! I have to say, I love them. It was pretty much just slush where I was, but the tires gripped very nicely. The summer tires were a much rougher ride and really gave you less confidence. I can feel the huge difference of the Scorpion Snow/Ice tires already on dry roads at 30º.

Great job by Tire Rack, very easy experience. I just think I will have tires shipped elsewhere in the future.
