Many cars are required to have extinguishers to be able to race. It's a requirement. Any car that is built for racing and is nice enough to be in a show, the judges know this. It totally opposite of what you describe. If you have a Bad Ass car built for racing a required extinguisher adds to the beauty of a Bad ride. I have seen some pathetic fire extinguishers mounted IN THE TRUNK! with a NOS sticker on it and yes, you should be deducted points for something that useless. |

The only time it gets in the way is if I have to move the seat forward to get access to back seat (which is extremely rare for me ... almost never). I can move the seat forward a couple inches before the seat starts pushing into the extinguisher, so if I need to move the seat, I pop the extinguisher out of the bracket move the seat ... move the seat back and reseat the extinguisher. Pretty simple process. If I take it in to dealership for servicing, I normally pull the extinguisher and put it in the cargo net in trunk to prevent problems if they move the seat. |

These aren't the best pictures in the world, but it gives you an idea..
This is when I first put it in, only one strap holding it in, later popped on another strap to the mounting bracket (towels down because it had been rainy) Not visible until you duck under to look.. Here it is now with two straps to hold it more firmly. Cost maybe $12, and then the cost of the fire extinguisher itself..
