17" rims

does anyone know of a certain rim besides bogarts that will fit the ss rear for drag radials , bogarts are the ticket but for now looking for a cheaper solution, thanks.

c6 zo6 wheels... only 18's though.

bogart is the only place where you can get 17's or 16's (if you switch to v6 brakes)

danhr is exactly right. He chimed before I could, There aren't to many bolt on applications for a smaller wheel. The c6 z06 18" will bolt right up no problems. If you want a 16" or 17" its SJM/Bogart. I just ordered the SJM wheels from Steve who was fantastic to work with. Usually its a month to get the built but I told him that the drag racing for us ends in May and starts again in the fall and he'll have them shipped out by the end of next week. So only two weeks from start to finish. And you already know that they aren't cheap. Im at $1419.00 so far without shipping. But WTF, nothing else is cheap on the car. Gotta pay to play.

Your most cost effective solution right now is to get some Nitto's for your stock rims. You will go up in smoke with the stock Pirelli's. Also, if you haven't done it yet, get some stiff bushings for the differential and rear subframe. I am sure HD axles will be in your future too...

there's a reason why that's the cheapest solution.....

I agree with you completely. There were a large number of people that overpowered their drivetrains at C5Fest... It's a learning curve. Many Camaro owners are going to go through the same cycle the Challenger guys went through a year or so ago.

I was able to get my 18" z06 wheels and M & H drag radials for less than it cost me just to get the 17" SJM's. I wish I knew that I was going to keep going this far with the car at the time, it would've paid for the gear swap. But I have no problem paying for the current right way, the SJM wheel. I think that the 18" dr package is probably great for anyone running low 11's and slower. For anyone making 550+ the slick is the only way to go. Without them you aren't even using all the power you just paid for. Its no fun running 3 tenths slower becasue of a tire!

I went with 18" rims for a tire/wheel combination that can be used on both the street and track, but it's not for everyone.
