Factory rubber is seldom sufficient, which is the case on the GT500, SRT8, GT, SS.... The GT500 supports tire width up to 335 without any modifications, so easy fix on that one. At least we all have more options on wide tires recently with so many of us shopping upgrades. Used to be fewer options at a very high price...

Not yet... I plan on it after I decide what exhaust I am going with. The good thing about my car is it has a built in 0-60, 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile guages...... I can actually test it without going to the track if I can find a road to do it on.

I didn't call you out. I assumed you wouldn't think my comment was directed at you due to our previous conversation. I appreciate the advice you gave me and I said so in our PMs.

So I'm stupid now??

No need to bring politics into this. The whole Mustang/Camaro battle is bad enough without mixing that in.

You say the Mustang isn't the be all end all, but sometimes you and a couple others come across like it is. I KNOW the Camaro isn't the best all around performing car in its class, and I can accept that. I just don't understand why you and other people feel the need to try to prove the 5.0's superiority on a Camaro site.

I don't want to argue over this because it's pointless and it proves nothing.

I am willing to help anyone regardless of what they drive. What I disapprove of is stupidity.

95% of these types of threads here are created by fellow Camaro owners such as this one. It is easy to point the finger at the rest of us non-Camaro owners. Reminds me of the Democrats deposing of all of our reserves and blaming a former president for our economic issues. Bullshit is bullshit no matter how it is sliced.

I rarely post here unless it is blatant and am happy to discuss transmission and cylinder #8 issues on the Mustang forums and have done so. I call that bullshit out too along with vendors who try to screw the community. I have no issues with any manufacture owner until that bullshit line is crossed. Challenger, Mustang, Camaro, etc. doesn't matter.

There are plenty of great folks who own all makes of cars and get along just fine with them including Camaro owners. Met a lot of fine folks in this area when I had mine and enjoyed talking and spending time with them.

Mustang isn't perfect or God's gift to man. I own more Dodge/Chrysler cars than Ford. I will not accept bullshit however. Take it or leave it.

the 5.7 iroc still had more power. but it was handicapped by more weight and the extremely bad decision by GM to make it auto only.

Oh okay, I don't remeber the 80s.... so yeah. My friend has a 5-speed 5.0 Fox Body Mustang and always talks about how it was much faster than the Camaro for a large part of the 80s, I haven't done the research to verify this claim.

I had a 5.0 IROC back then that got owned on a regular basis by the 5.0 Mustang.

That all changed in 93 when I got my LT1 Z28....Camaro dominated the Mustang GT all the way up to 2011.

Interesting.... so 2002 Camaro vs 2010 Mustang... Camaro would still win then ?

I remember the 80's well, and had both a 86 and 88 GT back then. Camaros and Firebirds didn't stand a chance. Until 1989, when the turbo T/A came out. The Mustang never had an answer to that.

Maybe not a 2010... but I had a 2011 CTS Cadillac Coupe 3.6L that WALKED AWAY from my friends stock 2006 Mustang GT. That should never happen. The 2010 was an improvement... 2011 was a complete change (5.0). IMO the new 5.0 and the 03-04 Cobras are the only respectable Mustangs as of late

No love for the new GT500's, Cobra Jets, Cobra R's, and Boss's

No there is! I'm just talking about regular Mustangs.. not really specialty models. I singled out the Cobra's though because I see them more often than GT500s. And I'm saying as of late (last 10 years)

Me too ! I see Cobras fairly often, I have even seen several Cobra convertibles as of late.

So.... 2002 Z28 SS Camaro 6-speed vs 2010 Mustang GT Track Pack 6-speed.... who would win through the 1/4 ?
