Oil change
Under the warranty I get free oil change @ Chevy dealer for 12,000 miles/24 months. I haven't had a oil change since I purchased the 2013 Camaro on March 28 2015. Although I have not met the 5,000 mile oil change mileage suggestion & have 40% oil life will dealer still change oil?

1.you are past the 24 months so they will not do it.
2.Oil does degrade over time and you should change it yearly regardless of miles 3. Drive your car more please. These cars are meant to be driven not parked. |

OP, typically when they offer you these promotions, it's for a set number of oil changes. They might say oil changes for 12,000 miles, but maybe it's 1 oil change every 6,000. So really it's only good for 2 oil changes? You can do the 2 oil changes back-to-back if you want, then discard the ability for other free changes. Talk to the dealer, let them know it's been over 6 months and you want it changed. They will do what you want to keep you happy if they are a good dealership. If not, they are the easiest oil changes I have ever done on my own cars.

As far as AC Delco filters, I have had always had good luck with them. If you are doing your own oil changes, make sure that the gasket from the old filter is completely removed. It had been reported, and I had this happen to me once where part of the old filter's gasket stayed on the filter housing and caused a leak. Other than that, if installed properly, I've had no issues with them, and they're all I ever used on my GM cars. |

The V6 uses a different type of filter. I have never had a problem with the acdelco filters, or any oil filter. I give the filter a looking over before I buy it. Before installing make sure the mounting surface is clean, make sure rubber gasket on filter is seated properly and not deformed or something. Put a little oil on rubber gasket, screw on until gasket contacts mounting surface and tighten 3/4 of a turn.

If this is what was also offered to me when I picked up my car I was told I can come down the day after I picked up the car for the oil change if I so chose to

I do not believe you will have an issue from the dealer regarding the free oil change @ 40% (it's been 6 months, which-ever occurs first), but if they do not honor it you should definitely get it done now at your expense.

It depends.
If you are referring to the Chevrolet "Complete Care" program, the fine print says "scheduled maintenance only" which means oil changes according to the OLM. However, many dealers (including mine) have given me oil changes upon request. So, check with your dealer.
