Sounds good glad I didn't go last month to the shop. I will love to see this car when fired up in person. Any word on an estimated time of completion? And trust me these things and tuning take time to get right.

I'm thinking at least a couple of weeks. Earliest I would be able to fly in would be just before Labor Day or the week after. Would definitely like to se Tracy make a few passes in it - so that's a possible factor also.

LOL, Bet there would be a lot of really mad people if I picked up the car the day after it was done!

Not to be a jerk but how do you know you have two bad pistons? Dis assembly? Scope?

Hmmm. where did I put that Denish book?
Building big twins?
I also have a background in motorcycle builds but mostly sportbikes. I do porting etc.

BSR - remember reading when you did your intake you had a background in sportbikes. My last endeavor was a CVO Electra Glide. Ended up at 122/120 on the dyno - that was after detuning just a little for the chassis to keep up and that was after the suspension upgrades. Throws people when they see a bagger stand up in 2nd. it's not Busa fast but it's quick for an 1100 pounder.

I haven't been in the shop doing sserious machine work in years - I usually think stuff up and hand the drawing to my son a d tell him "build that". I do miss it though.

I had a leak down test done. I'm at a 16% pressure lose. But nothing to bad at that percentage. Happened when I did my first dyno run after getting the car back to get some logs for Vince. Gotta pay to play, I was going to have Tracy swap me out with another stock set. But why when I can just wait for the stronger ones. I'm running between 10.5-12 AFR so I'm in the safe part now. Just running rich most the time while wasting about 30% of my fuel unburned. Also if I recall Gretchen is also in need of 2 pistons.

16% Damn!
How do we know its pistons rather than rings or cylinder wall damage?

P.S. Thanks for not taking this the wrong way!

Well not 100% on that yet. But I had planned on upgrading the pistons along with the rings anyway. But we did consider the walls also and if it is damaged will look at sleeves.

Transport driver called and will arrive tomorrow to pick up Chakita and take her to FL. If the cams would show up that would be swell.

Apparently my cams were in the same shipment as several other sets of cams / other parts and didn't leave until last Wednesday - the day after I put the deposit on the transport. Oh well, it's all good - with any luck they will arrive no later than Monday and I can overnight them to Tracy.

Anyone in FL, if you see a Rally Yellow with TX plates running around Palmetto - send it back to Tracy's. You know how girls are the first time away from home.
