Crushing cars, that are perfectly still useable, is extreme, wasteful and thoughtless.

I say seize them, sell them, and put the money into the support groups of the families who lost loved ones due to the stupid act of STREET RACING!

Ouch. They should treat the cars like drug seizures, sell them and use the money for something worth while.

So that some other tool can buy it at a fraction of its worth and turn around and use it for the same illegal activity? That's the logic behind crushing cars seized because of street racing...

I remember seeing this almost a year ago, it's not being crushed for street racing it had something to do with being a corporate car. If I remember correctly, the car couldn't be registered through the DMV so it was crushed because it was basically useless. I'm sure, however, that this car wasn't crushed because the owner was street racing. The only cars crushed in California are the ones that are caught racing but have illegal, stolen modifications. They're crushed because they can't be resold to the general public.

I doubt they're going to sell a 2011 IS-F for 5 grand. It would be no cheaper than a used SS.

It was a Lexus development mule. Could not be sold to the public so it was crushed. It had nothing to do with street racing.

I was about to say that it made no sense to crush a car that is still derivable. Waste of possible income for the govt that could be put to use to keep taxes lower...

Misinformation is pretty common on the internet...

Nope, a friend of mine had shown me this video like a year ago. Just took a look at the posts, looks like I'm not the only one who knows the true story. Like the poster above me. Nice deduction skills though
