Putco H13 Heavy Duty Wiring Harness
Here's the harness:
http://www.amazon.com/Putco-239008HW...+harness+putco I don't believe they list it on their website anymore as a product, but I got it on Amazon brand new and it's sold on many other sites. So I installed the harness, it was incredibly easy to do. However when I have the car turned on and it's in Automatic Light Control mode, the resistors are buzzing like I did something wrong and the lights aren't very bright. If I turn the headlights on manually, they work fine. The weird part about the setup is that Putco gives you a plug on one side to plug the original harness into. But on the other side you just need to leave it hanging there. This is where I might have messed up but I don't see any other solution. Anyone else have this issue? Let me know if you need photos. |

What is it for if you are running h13 bulbs we run h133 in all non RS cars?

Not quite sure what you mean... does this mean I don't need a heavy duty wiring harness for the Putco high output lights?

How much watts to they use? if its 35 watts then you dont need any thing but the bulbs, and next in the day time your lights work on the DRL power and are not as powerful as night time when it goes to full power, so its working fine.

They are 100W I believe when you switch to high beam. That's why they recommend this wiring harness. I just don't know why I'm getting the buzz under that specific condition.

You dont have 12v and its your relays doing that sound.

Yeah I figured it was the relays making the noise. So what you mean by I don't have 12v? How would I fix this issue?
Thank you so much for walking me through this, btw. |

Where did you ground them to?

Well the power is coming from the post in front of the fuse box on the left. Then I'm grounding each side to a bolt on the front quarter panel (on the top, under the hood)

And I originally installed them flipped around the other way, where I was powering it from the post on the right side of the engine bay (positive battery post, under the red plastic thing) but it still made the buzzing noise there.

Find replacement Bosch relays with a diode across the 85 and 86 circuit. This fixed my problem with a similar product so by a vendor here.

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately I'm not an electrician which is why I got the plug and play wiring harness. I wouldn't know what exactly to get in terms of a replacement relay and types of diodes or which wires are on the 85 & 86 circuits.

@2SSRS:
I have some high quality photos for you to take a look at before I start adding diodes. Just want to be sure I do it right! Thanks again for your help! http://minus.com/mcGwu8m05/1g |
