Aftermarket amplifiers
For those of you doing your own sub install...or any aftermarket speakers/amps for that matter...where are you getting the module that converts the factory radio's speaker-level outputs to a preamp-level signal?
I'm looking at one on crutchfield, calls the PAC OEM-2, but I was wondering if anyone knows of another type or better place to get one at a better price. I'm also curious if anyone knows of a module to buy that will convert just one-channel, since the Camaro's have that center speaker in the dash that's all by itself. I'm looking to upgrade all the speakers in the car and amplify them, so I also need to figure out which wires to splice into, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. |

Yeah, I was wondering if anyone could give some insight into specific products they had used. Finding a place to buy is not the difficult part here

JL
The JL clean sweep is pretty damned sweet. Pricey though. I used one on an FJ Cruiser, but I bypassed the cheasy stock amp and tapped in from behind the deck

I used the JL clean sweep and love it. i really like the ability to boost the signal to multiple amps. I think it was worth the extra cash.

The default radio included with any of the cars can be calibrated to support line level amp outputs. If you have a good relationship with your dealer they may know how to do this.

Audiocontrol LC6 and if you want further control daisy chain it up to and Audiocontrol EQ. JL makes fine products but overhyped IMO.
