Yeah it's awful but I haven't been doing anything to try and conserve gas either and the engine is brand new; I accelerate too quickly, and drive too quickly, and idle too often etc etc... maybe at a few thousand miles it'll get better.

EDIT: I have roughly 500 miles on it

Same problem.
2lt
I have 7000 miles and do 80% City-ish type driving.
45mph zones with horrible traffic and to many streetlights.
Even when I drive like a old lady I still don't really get that good of mileage.
On average I get around 16 mpg

I use this spreadsheet I made that does the calculations for you (as long as you do a complete fill up every time, which I do).

It also does a rolling average over the last 5 tankfulls.

I average about 18 -20 mpg with a mixture of city/hwy driving. I am pretty easy on the gas peddle tho. If I drive aggressively, then it drops down to about 16 mpg.

You know, if you think about it, it should be considered 'gallons per hour' when it comes to city driving :P Since you're not having to drive as far, you're likely having to fill up less per week. Whereas with highway driving, you're having to fill up less per mile, since you're going to get better mileage. Most of my commute is flat land with a few hills, and the city driving is comparatively minimal, so I guess it's really tough to compare to someone else who drives more city miles than highway miles.

Feel free to empty out my information that's there and replace it with your own..

just don't delete the formulas in the cells that have them.

All you should need to enter is
Date
Mileage from odometer
how many gallons it took to fill up the tank
$ per gallon

All other calculations are made for you.

When the tank gets filled , I just write the odometer mileage on the gas receipt and all the other info needed is on the receipt.

Easy.

12.1 is the very best I've gotten and that's after the latest tune from Livernois. I track my mileage very carefully and do not rely on the cars display for my final numbers. I asked them about gas mileage and was told I should be getting what others are getting. Not sure how to interpret that but with a rough, surging idle and 3-4mpg less than most others I've read about with similar mods, I am sure there is room for improvement in this tune. Kinda stuck tho since the folks that tune are 3hrs away and have done all they can it seems.

Really sucks for a 2010 2SS with only 19k miles... Mods listed below.

TDOD/AFM Delete kit and stage 2C camshaft.
Cam specs are: 224/236 .620/.620 117 LSA
CNC valve job the heads and port the intake and throttle body
Livernois Motorsports Dual Valve Spring Package (Livernois Motorsports Dual Valve Springs, Titanium Retainers, Valve Spring Locators, Locks, & Valve Seals)
ARP Head Bolts
MLS Head Gaskets
Hardened Pushrods
GMPP LS7 Lifters
GMPP LS2 Lifter guide kit
GMPP LS2 Valley Cover
GMPP Valve Cover Breather Block-Off
GMPP LS7 Camshaft Sprocket
GMPP Timing Chain Dampner
GMPP PCV Hose for Non-DOD applications
GMPP LS2 Lifter guide kit
GMPP Exhaust Gaskets
GMPP Timing Cover w/ Sensor
ARP Timing Chain Bolts*
Kooks Long Tube Headers and high flow mid pipes
PI 2400 Single Disc Converter

I really don't understand even having a discussion about MPG if you are driving a SS car. You can't tell me for a split second that the thought of MPG was on your mind buying this car and if you are thinking about it while driving this car I'm sorry you should sell it and get a Prius because you are not enjoying the car the way it's meant to be.

Well genius...if a car is running too rich it's not running correctly. Things get fouled. Performance is lost. Thanks enlightening us with your opinion and helpful advice on engine tech.

lol whoa whoa now, this is just a discussion. No need to get your panties in a wad. 100% pure curiosity, my friend. No clue why you're using that tone.

[edit] @ nextphase2000, I'm no professional, but I would imagine that most types of performance mods (especially with such as yours, with porting, etc) would reduce your gas mileage. not sure though.

Over the last month, my 2012 2LS has averaged 26.8. Since 12-31-11 I have put 9,900 miles on it and loving it so far!!
