I also have 20% all around and 50% on the windshield. It can be a little dark backing up into darkness at night, but rolling down the windows and using your mirrors, combined with back up sensors, fixes that. Never a problem seeing out the windshield at night, because my car came with headlights. The South Florida sun is brutal, and the tint really helps visibility, and really helps keep the car cool.

As far as the sensor, I really haven't paid attention, its a valid point. I don't think it turns the lights on though.

Still curious how everyone else handles the fact that you have registration stickers on the windshield. How do you put them on since atleast in NJ they stick onto the inside of your window and then whenever they put new ones on they use a giant scrapper to get it off. Itd f up the tint every few years so how else does it get applied???

I never thought about that..here in carolina we don't have any stickers or anything that need to be stuck to the windshield..thanks for all the replies so far. I'm still leaning towards 20 on the sides and 50 on the windshield...even though 35 is the legal limit in north Carolina...so I might end up going with 35 on the sides...if the windshield is tinted it will make all the other windows appear darker...I never got pulled over with my old car for my tint..but it would suck to get it done and then get hassled by every cop in town..hmmm....

Have you ever driven a car with windshield tint? do you know how tint works... it's harder to see inside than it is outside of the car...

Do you wear sunglasses when you drive your car? SAME THING BASICALLY...

It's pretty much illegal in most states to have anything on the windshiled below the AS1 line..but who cares... if you want it, get it

The concept is that you just stick the registration, inspection, park passes, or anything that you want to be easily transferable to a piece of clear plastic that is also refered to as "window cling" then stick that to the windshield.

Here are some pics to make this more clear, I just did my new registration this way. . .

(do not follow the instructions on the back of the product its intended for a different use)

That is pretty cool right there. Might have to get myself one of those when I tint the windshield. Scratch that. I will be getting one of those when I tint my windshield.

Very clean looking. I have 15% all around and plan on doing 35% on the windshield. It's so sunny in So Flo! Plus, it looks quite nice. thanks for the pic!

I have 35% all around and have no trouble at all. Lights work fine, they come one just a bit sooner than they normally would but it would have to be real cloudy and almost raining for them to come on.
