GMPP track pack exhaust part # 92231570, why not fit with factory ground effects?

What creates the issue with fitment to a car with the factory ground effects kit? The ground effects fit the stock exhaust with the polished stainless tips, does this have larger diameter tips or stock out further than the stock?

Can I cut my tops off and weld them into this kit to get proper fit?

Maybe for the $800 dollars I should instead look at what Apex has. I can't imagine getting warranty issues because I changed out the exhaust.

There are two different ones. The one for GFX has a shorter radius coming out of the muffler (less total distance after the muffler/tip is closer to muffler)

I am not entirely sure what the fitment problem is. I got the THR exhaust, which are 4" tips, which are bigger than the GMPP offering (if I'm not wrong), and the body shop was able to get them into the gfx without a problem. I have no rattling problems, or any interference problems. As you can see in my picture below, its a tight fit, but I think it looks great.

I see you're from the Pittsburgh Area, I would recommend, if you have any concerns, give Tom Henry Chevy a call, ask for Rick in the body shop and he should be able to discuss it with you. Perhaps they can fit the pipes you want into the car without having to cut anything.

Good luck

I don't know why that exhaust doesn't fit, but I know I put a GFX model borla atak on my car without gfx and it fit like a glove.

I don't see a GMPP track pack exhaust for cars with ground effects, im only seeing seeing this one part number.

This is where i'm looking at the GMPP exhaust and failing to see the part number that works with GFX.

Grabiak Performance in Pa has an SLP exhaust that appears similar for about half price.

THR's exhaust is very similar to the Grabiak in price if you want more options, and it fits in the ground effects.

I don't know where you're from, but if you're ever looking for confirmation, you're welcome to see my car close up.

Give Tom Henry a call He's in Bakerstown. I'm betting he can ship you an axle back that will be good to go if you can't get over there.
