Car Transport

I need a little help or advice however you want to look at it. I have never had to deal with getting a car shipped but do to an accident I had back in June I cannot make that kind of trip and probably won't be able to for a while. I am looking at one in Cali and one in Ohio. I am in Houston. If anyone knows a good transport service it would be helpful because everything I have been looking up seems to be some sort of BS. I would like to have it shipped in an enclosed carrier if it is not too outrageous. I know it costs less to get it shipped on an open transport but then there are other things that come into play with that. Thanks in advance for any input that you may have.

I move a lot because I am in the Military, and since I can only drive one car, I have to have my boat and my Camaro shipped. I just moved from Iowa to Texas in August and I used:
jjohn@shipcobalt.com
COBALT LOGISTIC SERVICES
Phone: 913-232-2142
Fax:913-800-6095
www.shipcobalt.com

I was happy with this company and would used them again.

My lessons learned:
1) Everything is negotable. The moving company will try to negotiate higer prices with you, so stick to your guns and negotiate a lower price.

2) Enclosed trailers are expensive

3) Trains are extreamly expensive

4) Remember negotiation! Negotiate for a top load in the middle. No road grime, or bugs splatterd on your car.

enclosed and fully insured will be $1200-$1500 all day. If you consider that reasonable I can point you in the right direction.
