Pfadt Racing releases new Fabricated Rear Tie Rod

The Pfadt Race Engineering 2010 Camaro Rear Tie Rods were developed using the latest analysis software which enabled us to increase strength 136% while simultaneously keeping mass at a drastic minimum (lighter than OEM w/ bushings). Keeping the mass low allows the suspension to react more quickly to the changing road surface keeping the tire in contact with the road to increase traction. Through further analysis and testing we were able to achieve a 99.8% reduction in deflection which helps decrease wheel hop and increase traction even further.

Included with this kit is our leading edge Rear Tie Rod Bushing Kit. Utilizing lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum sleeves that are hard anodized to create incredible surface hardness and microscopic pores to hold our special grease. These sleeves are then Teflon coated to further reduce friction. This is then coupled with our graphite impregnated polyurethane bushing which uses deep grease grooves to hold and continuously re-lubricate the surfaces for long and quiet operation. The result is an ultra lightweight, ultra-low friction joint that is 42% lighter than the OE bushing and more durable then ever before. This kit includes the bushings for both the inner and outer suspension points.

The final arm is the result of four stages of precision manufacturing; CNC machining of the bushing housing, Laser cutting of the intricate panels, CNC bending and TIG welding to finish the assembly. All of this is accomplished right here in the USA.

Those look awesome and will go good with the trailing arms. 1 question, are these painted, dipped, or powder coated? I'm curious how you coated it for longterm corrosion protection inside the boxed in truss areas.

Both our Trailing Arm kit and this Fabricated Rear Tie Rod are powder coated. We specifically chose a powder coating that would be extremely corrosion resistant. We live and work out of Salt Lake City, Utah, and we certainly engineer our products to last in environments that aren't exactly friendly to suspension components. Between salt, snow, rain, and dirt our conditions run the gamut, and we design solutions to withstand what the elements can throw at you.

The arm it's self is exactly the same weight as stock, but there is a 42% weight reduction in each Polyurethaine bushing compared to the stock rubber bushing. Dropping a little bit in the bushing nets an overall reduction in weight.

Well we don't have a video that shows the difference between stock and Tie Rod/Trailing Arm, but we do have a video of before and after Subframe Mounts and Trailing Arms. This gives a decent idea of what's happening in your rear suspension after some of the compliance has been removed.
