An old Family Chevrolet, can you help?

My Chevy runs deep, the pictures are of my Great Great Grandfather and Grandmother.
The story goes they took a train to Detroit and purchased the car in the photo. I am sure the drive back to California must of been fun. Well maybe not as paved roads were not like today.

I would like to ask if anyone can help me with the following.
What is the year and name of the Chevrolet?
and
Is it possible to run the plates to see what year it was licensed?

I plan on using Photoshop to place my Camaro next to the old Chevrolet. Then making a poster and placing in my Garage. A nice family story....

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me.

Very cool pics. Hopefuly some of the Chevrolet folks on here can help you. I would imagine there is some sort of archive you may be able to access regarding the plate. Good luck tracking it down. Keep us posted.

Looks to be an early 1920's Chevrolet Tourer. At a cost of around $525

Would be pretty wild to find a way to see if that exact car were still out there somewhere and buy it to keep it in the family. Odds are though, its not out there.
