2LT, then jumping to a 1SS is a goofy comparison unless all you care about is power. The reason people get the 2LT is for the Luxury/options. People who get the 1SS, get it for the v8 power. When money is a factor, its either speed or options... or neither... lol
I love the luxury and options with the 2LT I was very close to buying one, I test drove the V6 from Avis and I loved it but the fact of the matter is at the end of the day I know I would have the car for 5 years and did not want to live with the fact that the V8 was an option and I did not get it every single time I got in my car to drive it.

Thats your opinion. And COMPLETELY contrary to the point of both my post and this thread.

Yes, the V8 will make more horsepower when you wring every last pony out of it than the V6. But we're not talking about 1600 hp drag cars here, we're talking about getting a 426 horsepower car for 31,000. And its quite possible to get the V6 for 24000 and add 122 horses to it for under 7000.

P.S. - And well under 7000, for that matter.

I am going to put SS and RS badges all over my 1LT, just so I can piss off some of those V8 owners... I CAN'T WAIT ...

That would probably anger the V6 crowd too.

Or make your exterior a mix of LT and SS parts. Who was the one here who did that on his V8 because he didn't like the mail slot? Was that Hylton?

Yup, Hylton. Though I think upgrading a V6 facia to an SS may be less acceptable... imho anyway.

I'd be surprised if that mail slot remains for the entire SS production of 5th gens. I could have thrown a V6 front on my car but I would have been disappointed with losing the SS front spoiler.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing more custom stuff. Let's see is some after market company makes a front fascia from the latest Bumblebee.

I'd like to see that as well, though personally I'll probably be just smoothing over my fog lights.

Mostly because if that fascia ends up being the Z28 fascia, I don't want people thinking I'm trying to make my V6 look like a Z28.

Call me nuts but I'd even consider slapping the V6 fascia to the SS if I had one. For the same reason I don't prefer stripes. I like a clean, solid, even slightly understated look.
